Independent evidence about the indoor environment.
Illuminair is an independent consultancy focused on one subject: how the indoor environment of a building actually performs, and what that means for the people responsible for it.
We assess, investigate and monitor indoor air quality, ventilation and thermal comfort, and we explain the evidence in terms that General Managers, engineering teams and owners can each act on.
We are a specialist consultancy, not a multidisciplinary engineering practice. Where a question calls for engineering design or specialist equipment, we say so at the outset and involve qualified partners.
Independence
Our conclusions follow the measurements. We state what the evidence supports and what it does not, and where a question needs specialist equipment or engineering partners, we say so before work is agreed.

Gary Novak
Founder & Director, Illuminair Ltd
Gary Novak leads Illuminair’s independent environmental investigations and assessments. He brings an international commercial career spanning building technologies, indoor environmental quality and specialist solutions for premium properties.
His involvement in indoor environmental technologies began in 2020, working with air purification and indoor air quality solutions across European markets.
Through Illuminair, Gary has delivered environmental assessment and investigation projects in London’s luxury hospitality sector, helping engineering and operational teams understand indoor conditions, investigate concerns and make informed decisions.
Each engagement is scoped independently. Where an investigation requires it, Illuminair combines this experience with specialist technical expertise and independent engineering support.
