Privacy notice

Illuminair Ltd · Last updated: 20 October 2026

Who we are

This website is operated by Illuminair Ltd (“Illuminair”, “we”, “us”). Illuminair Ltd is the controller of the personal information described in this notice.

Illuminair Ltd is registered in England and Wales, company number 10812999. Registered office: 80 Grove Park, Knutsford, England, WA16 8QB.

We are registered with the Information Commissioner’s Office as a data controller.

For any question about this notice or your information, contact enquiries@illuminair.net.

What we collect

When you send an enquiry through this website, we collect:

  • your name and email address
  • the property or organisation you represent
  • the topic you select
  • optionally, a short message you choose to add

Our form service may also record technical details of each submission, such as your IP address and browser information, and use them to detect spam. Our hosting provider processes technical information such as IP addresses in server logs to deliver and secure the website.

If you email us directly, we receive the information you include in your email.

How we use it, and why

We use enquiry information only to reply to you, to discuss your property and, if you ask, to prepare a proposal.

Our lawful basis is our legitimate interest in responding to enquiries about our services. We have assessed this use and consider that it is what you would expect when you contact us, and that it does not override your interests or rights. You can object to our use of your information at any time.

We do not use your information for marketing without your consent, we do not sell it, and we do not use it for automated decision-making.

How an enquiry reaches us

  1. The form sends your enquiry over an encrypted connection to Netlify Forms, part of our hosting provider.
  2. Netlify checks each submission for spam using Akismet, a filtering service run by Automattic Inc., then stores the enquiry in our Netlify account and emails a copy to our enquiry mailbox.
  3. We reply from our business email account.

Enquiries can be seen only by the person at Illuminair who handles them.

Who we share it with

We share personal information only with service providers who process it on our behalf:

  • Netlify, Inc., which hosts this website and receives, stores and forwards enquiries
  • Automattic Inc., whose Akismet service Netlify uses to filter spam from form submissions
  • Microsoft, which provides our business email (Microsoft 365)

We may also disclose information where the law requires it.

International transfers

Netlify is based in the United States, so enquiries submitted through the website are processed there. Netlify, Inc. participates in the UK Extension to the EU–US Data Privacy Framework, which the UK recognises as providing adequate protection for personal information transferred to certified US organisations. Netlify’s data processing agreement also includes the UK International Data Transfer Addendum.

As part of its service, Netlify sends each submission to Automattic Inc., also in the United States, for spam checking with Akismet. Automattic acts for Netlify, not for us. Under Netlify’s data processing agreement, and under UK data protection law, Netlify remains responsible to us for the services it uses to process our data.

Microsoft stores our Microsoft 365 email and files at rest in the United Kingdom, the data location committed for our account. This covers where the data is stored, not every step of processing: Microsoft may process some data outside the UK, for example to filter spam and malware or to provide support, under the safeguards in its Data Protection Addendum.

How long we keep it

We delete enquiries from our form service within 30 days of receiving them. An enquiry that does not lead to an engagement is kept in our business email for up to 24 months after our last contact with you, then deleted. An enquiry that leads to an engagement becomes part of our engagement records, which we normally keep for six years after the engagement ends.

We keep information for longer only where the law requires it (for example, accounting and tax records) or where we need it to establish, exercise or defend a legal claim, and we record when and why we do so.

Cookies

This website does not use analytics, advertising or tracking cookies, and its fonts are served from this site rather than a third party. If that changes, for example if a reCAPTCHA challenge is added to the form, this notice will be updated first.

Your rights

Under UK data protection law you have rights to access, correct and erase your information, to restrict or object to how it is used, and to data portability in some circumstances. To exercise them, or with any question about your information, contact enquiries@illuminair.net, which reaches the person at Illuminair responsible for data protection requests. We will respond within one month.

You can also complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office (ico.org.uk). We would welcome the chance to address your concern first.

Changes to this notice

We will update this notice if the way we handle personal information changes. The date at the top shows when it was last updated.
